Biography

Dr. Ini-Ibehe Nabuk Etim is a Visiting Ass. Professor at Institute of Oceanology, CAS. He was the former Ag. Head, Department of Marine Science, Akwa Ibom State University, Nigeria (2021-2024). He is also a facilitator at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS), FUTO, Nigeria. Dr Nabuk Etim recently won a Grant from the Prestigious CAS President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) as a High Talent Visiting Scientist in 2023. He’s an awardee of the Chinese Government Scholarship, CSC (2015). He is an ARIFA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil.

Dr. Etim obtained his Ph.D degree in Materials Science and Engineering (with a specialty in Marine Corrosion and Protection) from the Institute of Metal Research, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry in 2015; and B.Sc in Marine Chemistry in 2010 from the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria.

He is a Guest Editor of the Journal of Iron and Steel Research International. He has over 60 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals in Microbial Biocorrosion, Marine Science, Electrochemistry, and Corrosion Protection of Materials. He has attended and presented at several international conferences. He is a member of the China Society of Corrosion and Protection (CSCP), African Materials Degradation Society (AMDS), and Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).
