Biography

Engr. Henry C. Uzoma is a distinguished scholar and lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria. He acquired higher education through a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering from FUTO in 2006; a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Education from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in 2014; an M.Sc. in Environmental Technology from FUTO in 2015; and an M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, in 2022. He is presently engaged in pursuing his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The engineer is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (FISPN). He is also a professional member of several learned societies, including the Nigerian Environmental Society (MNES), the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (MNSChE), and the Nigerian Institute of Environmental Engineers (MNIEE). He carries out research in pollution control, process safety, simulation, and materials synthesis. He has published articles in various well-recognized journals, presented papers at national and international conferences, and contributed actively to knowledge in the engineering and environmental management fields. He specializes in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, ASPEN HYSYS, ASPEN PLUS, Material Studio, MATLAB, advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, Arduino, and Python.

In addition to research, Engr. Uzoma has assured the enrichment of various areas of academia through teaching, supervision, class advising, giving public lectures, and participation in workshops and conferences. His teaching activities encompass general engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and safety management, underscoring his interdisciplinary skills and the desire to ensure that the better aspects of engineering education are delivered.

Engr. Uzoma still holds a very prominent place to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and the professional practice of engineering through teaching, research, and professional service activities.
